The church, in the historical centre of Foligno, is an incomplete work of Carlo Murena (1713-1764), disciple of the famous architect Luigi Vanvitelli. Restored two centuries after its abandonment, since 2011 it houses permanently the Calamita Cosmica (Cosmic Magnet), masterpiece of Gino de Dominicis by the Cassa di Risparmio di Foligno, to enrich its collection of contemporary art.

Before arriving in his permanent collocation the piece has been displayed in many different places in Italy and Europe (Ancona, Brussel, Paris, Milan, and Rome). It is considered one of the most important pieces of the 20th century and it reproduces a human skeleton of over 24 metres (78 ft.); with a long bird beak. It is called after the gold staff that started in the phalanges and is projected directly into the universe. The former church is also the second part of the CIAC, Centro Italiana Arte contemporanea (Italian Contemporary Art Centre) of the foundation Casa di Risparmio di Arte Contemporanea. It is a watering steel parallelepiped with the extern rust-coloured.
The Centre, divided in 3 floors, hosts exhibitions, cultural events and conferences.
