Located on the top of the hill near Località le Trobbe di Castel Viscardo, the industrial complex produced bricks and earthenware articles. The clay quarry is still situated in the upper part of the area.
The earthenware production of the factory is documented since the 17th century and the Stefani family has transmitted its story since the half of the 19th century.

During the first half of the 20th century, the brickyard worked regularly, stopping only from September 1943 to June 1944 when the Germans commandeered the plant to settle an antiaircraft battery. After the war, four company worked in the brickyard, all owned by members of the Stefani family. Until the half of the ‘90s the cooking was exclusively made in the traditional pit-type kiln powered by wood, and then it was put beside and replaced by a tunnel kiln powered by methane.
The method of production has remained the same for centuries; therefore the brickyard has provided material for the repair of many monuments –national and non – such as the Coliseum, the town of Pienza and the Cathedral of Orvieto.
