The Museum, opened on February 24th 2017, is located in Santa Maria degli Angeli, Assisi in viale Gabriele D'Annunzio at the former chemical industrial complex Montedison, designed by Arch. Morandi. The Museum exhibits and enhances objects related to the memory of important boxing events and athletes-boxers who have made unforgettable the history of Italian boxing in the world.

Furthermore, it collects and exhibits objects and historical relics, as well as library material, audio-visual testimonies on each support, donated or recovered. Finally, the Museum offers a cultural nature service, guaranteeing accessibility and exposure of its collection to the public for the purposes of study, education and pleasure. It can also carry out information and training activities on issues related to its collections.
Annexed to the Museum there is a Library of the Italian Boxing Federation, a veritable center of sports culture where it is possible to consult any kind of book or boxing magazine or educational training texts, either for a specific research or a simple reading, as well as a catalog of about 40,000 photos.
